Your dog will be in their own private kennel or share with a family member at your request. The kennels are 4 ½ feet by 7 feet on the inside and 4 ½ feet by 10 feet on the outside. Each kennel leads to a yard that is 16 feet by 30 feet. We rotate each dog throughout the day in the yards for exercise and to give them a change of scenery.

ARE THE KENNELS HEATED AND COOLED?
Yes! Our kennels are heated in the winter and cooled in the summer.

WHAT CAN I BRING?
You can bring whatever will make your pet comfortable. A bed that smells like home, toys, food and treats is best. We do not need bowls unless your pet requires a special slow feeder bowl.

SHOULD I BRING FOOD?
Yes! Please bring food for your pet. Keeping them on the same food from home will prevent upset tummies. If your pet runs out of food while they are here, we can provide food for them. There is a fee if we need to provide them food. See Our Services page for pricing.

MY DOG IS ON MEDICATION, CAN YOU ADMINISTER THAT?
Yes, we can administer medication with written consent from you. Please note that we are not a veterinarian. There is a fee to administer medication. See Our Services page for pricing.

HOW DO DOGS GET KENNEL COUGH?

We take cleanliness very seriously. We clean and disinfect everything daily, including all kennels, water and food bowls, floors and hallways. We say its like taking your child to daycare. No matter how clean a place is, bacteria and viruses can still spread. Kennel cough is typically spread through the air and your dog can inhale the virus or bacteria. There is nothing humanly possible that can stop the particles floating in the air. It takes 2 to 14 days for symptoms to begin showing and dogs can shed/carry the virus or bacteria for up to 2 months. If any dogs are showing symptoms of kennel cough, they are not allowed in the facility or are isolated immediately so they can be picked up. Our kennels are well ventilated, but we cannot completely stop the spread of kennel cough. The Bordetella vaccine does not cover all strains, so although it is helpful, its is not 100% effective against kennel cough. Kennel cough is like a flu/cold for us and typically clears up quickly. If we learn you dog got exposed, we will notify you immediately. Please inform us if you dog gets kennel cough so we can notify other pet owners. We do our very best to keep every pet healthy.

**We ask you to isolate your pet from any dog parks or daycares for 2 weeks before your stay to prevent the spread of illness.

Grooming FAQ

MY DOG OR CAT NEEDS JUST THEIR NAILS DONE, CAN I MAKE AN APPOINTMENT?
We do not require an appointment for just nails, just come in Monday-Friday between 8AM and 5PM. Please see our services page for prices.

WHAT IS INCLUDED WITH GROOMING?
Our standard for all grooming packages includes a bath, drying, light brushing, nails and ear cleaning. Please see our services page for additional services we provide.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?
Typically, it takes about 3 to 4 hours for grooming depending on the dog. We do our best to get them done as quickly as possible, however we will not force your dog through the grooming process. We try to make it as positive of an experience as possible and if they need breaks, we will give them to them. If they are matted, that takes extra time. Please remember we are working with animals; they have accidents or are sometimes in a mood. We want to make the grooming process safe and stress free for your pet.

ARE YOU EXPERIENCED WITH PUPPIES?
Yes, we do puppy’s first grooms often. We recommend doing a bath for your puppy’s first groom to familiarize them with the grooming process unless they are too matted. A full haircut can be a lot for a first time puppy. If you’re not sure about the condition for your puppy’s coat, you can bring them in for a consultation to see if your puppy is matted. Please allow us ample time to complete your puppy’s grooming because we want to make it a positive experience and break up the grooming process in puppy sized increments. Their first grooming may only be “puppy perfect” depending on behavior.

DO WE DRY THEM OR USE FANS?
We use both dryers and fans. We hand dry most dogs, but if your dog is scared of the dryer we may use fan to help with the drying process. We have professional drying fans that are temperature controlled. We are also in the room at all times to monitor the dogs.

MY DOG HAS SPECIAL NEEDS, CAN YOU GROOM THEM?
We groom a variety of special needs dogs and are happy to accommodate them if possible. Please give us a call or text at (775)782-1976 to discuss the nature of your dog's needs.

CAN I HOLD MY DOG FOR GROOMING?
We do not allow customers in the grooming room for liability reasons. It is best if your dog does not know if your there because it is critical that your dog pays attention to the groomer during the grooming process.

DO YOU GROOM CATS/OTHER ANIMALS?
At this time, we do not groom cats or other animals. We will clip your cats nails, please see above for nails questions. We recommend calling Clippers or Ranchos Pet Parlor located in the Minden/Gardnerville area.
